We have worked collaboratively with stakeholders to produce and implement medication policies and procedures for home care, residential care homes, day care and learning disabilities. This has been provided for in-house services and the independent sector, providing clear guidance for the workforce and adherence to CSCI recommendations and requirements. Medication training at all levels has been rolled out to include care workers, senior staff and managers ensuring the local authority can demonstrate a trained and competent workforce.
An on-going support service by our friendly pharmacist team, experienced in the care sector provides the local authority with answers to medication queries and updates on new guidance and legislation. Regular feedback meetings with the commissioners of the training ensure any medication issues are resolved as soon as possible and staff work within the guidelines and protocols.
